SMS and Messaging Policy

Effective date: July 9, 2026

This SMS and Messaging Policy explains how American Polling Company, LLC (“American Polling Company,” “APC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses text messaging to conduct survey research, and the choices available to you.

What these messages are

American Polling Company conducts public opinion and survey research. From time to time, we send text message invitations asking recipients to take part in a short, voluntary research survey. These are research invitations. They are not marketing or advertising, and we will never ask for payment or for account or financial information in a survey or a message.

Who the messages are from

Survey invitations may be sent by American Polling Company, or by American Polling Company on behalf of a client organization for whom we are conducting research, such as a campaign committee, political organization, or nonprofit. The sender is identified in each message so you know who is contacting you.

How we obtained your number and why you are receiving messages

You may receive a survey invitation because your telephone number is associated with your voter registration record, appended through a commercial data provider, and you fall within the population being studied. Messages are sent to reach a representative sample of that population.

Message frequency

Message frequency is limited. For a given survey, you will typically receive up to three messages: an invitation, a possible reminder if you have not yet responded, and a possible thank-you. You will not be enrolled in any ongoing or recurring text program.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. American Polling Company does not charge you to receive or respond to these messages.

How to opt out

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you reply STOP, you will receive a confirmation and we will not send you further messages. Opt-out requests are honored permanently and across future surveys.

How to get help

For help, reply HELP to any message, or contact us at info@americanpollingandresearch.com. [A support telephone number will be added once available.]

Your privacy

We do not sell or share mobile opt-in information or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Information collected through our messaging and surveys is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Individual survey responses are used only in aggregate, statistical form, and are never published or delivered in a way that identifies you.
